Abstract:

A new interpretation is suggested for the results obtained from a simultaneous thermogravimetry(TG)-DTA measurement of oil in water (o/w) emulsions. The endothermic DTA peak obtained at the phase inversion temp. of the emulsion is due to a sudden change in the rate of water evapn. and not to any internal thermal change of the system.
