Abstract:
A review discusses the selection of food grade ingredients and their acceptable daily intake. Addnl., the procedures and documentation necessary to register new food additives are introduced in view of the issue that additives typically used in controlled released applications are not approved for food products, and therefore need to undergo this registration process. It addresses the regulatory issues regarding the stability of the product, esp. in terms of biol., chem. and phys. stability.
